00Your time,'cause you only got what time you have. Yeah. You know, like, not rushing yourself as best you can. Uh, I think it, it, it plays into the plan. It's, uh, you know, uh, and obviously creating, um, you know, I guess, what you would say different timing, whether that's, um, you know, trying to take a shot or quick game or moving the pocket and things of that nature. So I think it all predicates on the plan, and then obviously going through the, through your progressions and, and then filling what the, you know, the pocket is and, and the, the internal play clock that I have. There's you know, you developed you guys versus man coverage. I'm wondering, what was, what was the improvement like on, on Sunday? Yeah. I thought we, uh, you know, we had separation. We made some plays. Um, you know, it's obviously, you know, a work in progress because it's, it's, it's gonna be man every game, you know? Uh, but I thought we made improvements, um, you know, and, and created some separation on, on some key plays. Cobb, when you look, when you look back at the red zone stuff, what did you see that maybe you guys can correct this week to finish some of those drives off? Um, you know, it's, it's, it's literally finishing. You know, it's a, it's a, it's a

01play here, play there. But, uh, nothing, nothing magical that I can tell you. Uh, but just finding ways to, to finish, uh, whatever the task is of, of the play. Mike was saying yesterday or earlier this week about 13 personnel and how it has helped you guys out. As a quarterback, in what ways does 13 personnel benefit you or allow you to tap into a little bit more of the offense? No, I think it's, it's, um, you know, creating, creating favorable matches, match-ups for us, whether that's in the pass game or the run game. Uh, you know, and creating angles for, you know, obviously for the run game and things of that nature. Uh, so it kind of, I wouldn't say slows the game down a little bit, but it definitely, um, you know, cleans the picture up mentally before he calls a play of what, you know, what the possibilities might be. With Bam, I mean, you've been around him for a couple years now. Like, it, it always kind of... He, he was talking about how he, he wants to be a team guy, but he doesn't necessarily want to be looked at as a team guy or looked at as a good third back. He wants, you know, the league to know that he's more than that. Do you sense

01that from him when he's playing?'Cause it does seem like he fits well with the team with what he's being asked to do, but yet he clearly wants more. Yeah, of course, and that's what you want. Um, you know, as a, as a teammate, you want guys that want more, and then when they get an opportunity, they go out there and show you why they want and deserve more. And, uh, you know, I thought he had a, had a hell of a game and, um, you know, really, I would say opened up a lot of things for us, uh, you know, with his ability to run and then, uh, some stuff in the pass game that he, that he was able to do for us. I know you guys have talked ad nauseam about you know, being one and O each week, and it's a week-to-week league and everything, but how nice was it after the four-week stretch where a lot of bad news, things weren't going right, just to reset with a win and come in with a... You know, what, how does the attitude change, I guess, if at all? Uh, I don't really think it changes. It's, it's... Like Mike said, I, I think that's one of the best quotes I've ever heard was, you know, hu-humility is a week away, you know? And I said that after the game, and I think that, that applies so much because literally the Broncos don't care what we did last week, you know? And, and

03we don't either, and it's finding a way to, you know, go one and O this week. How do you do that, though? Like, uh, it seem, that seems difficult to not be replaying the, the win and thinking about kind of the, um, the emotion of, of the win as you go throughout your week. So what's the question? Uh, uh, like how do you do that? How, how do you kind of prevent yourself from thinking about,"Okay, well we won this game. We're on a great now. Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah." Well, the last time we won, we went on a four-game losing streak. Mm-hmm. So we, we better find a way to, you know, flush it fast, you know, and go to the next one. I think that's the, um, that... I think that'll, I guess, quote unquote, "mentally humble you" really fast. Do you go around- How does Mike help? How does Mike help in that, in a sense? Literally just say, say what I kind of just said. You've been around for 11 seasons now. Is momentum real? Like, can you carry over anything from a win to- Oh, of course. I think it's the, the, the energy and the, the enthusiasm that you had. You know, those five minutes, we talk about those five minutes in the locker room before you guys get in there and, and the excitement that you have for that and

03that, that feeling of like you just conquered Narnia or something like that, you know? And, and what is that, Harry Potter? I've never even seen that movie. But, uh, I just always heard that saying. I... First time I got to use it. But, um, just being able to, to have that feeling, that's, I think that momentum from that is what you really... You, you chase that and then you come out, you know, today and, and you put a, a good days of work in and, and you understand what the end goal wants to be, but you know that you can't skip the steps, you know? That being said, do you feel like things clicked or something clicked from a protection standpoint last week with Mills there? Um, yeah, I thought, I thought... I mean, the, the game that th-those guys played up front, the, the, the O-line and, and the, and the backs, um, you know, I gotta say Trey'cause he's gonna get mad at me, so- And the tight ends. Um, you know, in, in our protections, I thought they did a really good job of, of understanding, you know, the, the different, well, the different looks, but also the, how they were setting looks up to play off of it and then, um, you know, and, and our receivers just getting open and, and our skill players just getting open in, in, in a timely

05fashion. The Broncos had a couple extra days off'cause of the Thursday game. I'm curious, having been in the league, whether you're going against a team that had a couple extra days, or if you were on the team with a couple extra days, other than maybe healing up or a couple more days to heal up, is there any kind of significant difference when a team is, is getting that much time? Um, yeah, I don't... I think it's every-everything is different, you know? So it's all based on the team, the player. Uh, so yeah, so it's different. From a passing standpoint, you guys were having a lot of success between the 20s, and then you mentioned the red zone, trying to get back on track there. W- Would, could you tell, especially from the film, what the difference was as far as success you had between the 20s to in the red zone? Yeah, I mean, we, we, we just wasn't scoring. You know, it's as, as simple as that. It's just, um, you know, and, and we obviously had to look at- What we did in that game, what we were trying to do in that game and see how can we not do that again and, and find ways to, whether that's first, second or third down of, of creating, um, you know, I guess more opportunities and, and cleaning up the details of those

08opportunities. It's pretty impressive that a twenty-three-year-old seventh round pick, you know, is the left tackle. And, and- I thought you were about to talk about me. I was about to say I am not twenty-three. No, but, uh, but Jayden, what's he like? Why do you think he's been able to... You know, I, he's not been perfect, but he's been able to take advantage of the situation and play pretty well. Who said he hasn't been perfect? I did. Oh. Don't say that- Has he been perfect? To me? Yeah. Um, you know, I think, uh, you know, his ability to-- A- a- and we talked about this is, is football is not too big for him, like the NFL is not too big for him. Um, you know, his, his ability to just go out there and, you know, he doesn't say much, but he gives you those, those, um, you know, those looks of, of, you know, he's gonna take care of business. And, and I remember when I first, um, when he was first starting, I kind of said like,"Hey, if you need anything for me, whether that's step up or, or change the cadence and, and whatever, just tell me." And his response was, "If I'm talking to you, I'm doing something wrong," you know? And, uh, and I thought that, that held a lot of weight for me, and he gave me a lot of comfort.

09Chad was saying- So he is perfect to me. You were a fifth-round pick, weren't you? No, third. Third round. Yeah. I was about to say you weren't a seventh round. Not even close. Uh, Chad was talking about how after the Rams scored, he knew he was gonna hit that game winner. Just did you notice anything during that span? And what's it mean just to know that he's got that confidence in you guys to put him in position? Um, the, the funny thing is on- once I ran out on the field, the only thing that was said was what yard line to get him to. You know what I mean? And I think that puts you in the mindset of like, it doesn't even really matter what yard line, he's gonna make it, you know? And, um, you know, I've, I've seen him make a ton of kicks out here and, and I've seen him make a couple game winners, uh, what was it? Two years ago, I think, three years ago. You know what I mean? And literally, I was just like, once we got in the rain, we got the, the, the chunk play and got the penalty, I'm like, all right, the game, like we, we pretty much won. You know what I mean? And, and then that, that was the confidence that we had in him. Uh, this team's kept-- ran more keepers on fourth and third and fourth its start than it has in the past. What do, do you enjoy doing them? And if- What's that?

10The quarterback keeper, like a sneak. Oh, a sneak. Yeah. Oh, keepers is a different thing. Sorry. Sorry. A sneak. A sneak. What-- Do you enjoy doing them or is it like- Um, do I enjoy it? Uh, sure. Yeah. Uh- I mean, it's, it's a matter of just doing what I gotta do to move the chains and, and that's my... I'm not a runner by any means necessary, so I guess that's my way of the QB run game. Jacoby, Larry's gonna go to the Ring of Honor this weekend. What have your interactions been with him over the years? And as someone who's been in this league a long time, what do you appreciate about his game? Uh, I mean, he's-- I've seen him from afar mostly'cause I've, I've never really been around him, but a couple of times he's been here. But, um, whether that's like the regard he's been held around the league, when I was growing up, uh, in the league, you know, my first couple of years, he's always been like the, like, if you want a receiver, what do you want? Like, and you, and it's Larry, you know. And just had a, always had a tremendous respect amount, uh, for him, and then obviously got to meet him a couple of times and then, uh, met him at the, his induction at the Pro

11Football Hall of Fame thing and, um, you know, I was like,"Damn, man, I wish I was your teammate for a day," you know. It's just like you get that, that, I guess, that aura from him, you know, and he-- a guy that's always done everything the right way on and off the field, and, um, that's somebody that from afar that I looked up to and, you know, I wanted people to, to regard me, um, you know, in the same, same light, you know. With your O-line, obviously, Gaines is another guy who's had to step in, and it seems like he's, he's done a really good job for you guys. What has he done, and what, what does that take for an offensive lineman to be able to step in mid-season like that? Um, you know, I, I think it's, it goes back to the, the, a guy that, who wants more, you know. And, and once he gets his opportunity, he shows you why he deserves more and, and why he's, quote-unquote,"asking for more." And, you know, another guy that you just, you, in the huddle, you just feel his energy and, and, um, you know, he's done a really good job of, of whatever it is that we've asked him to do and, you know, no complaints and, and, you know, just somebody that I really, uh, enjoy going

11to work to-- going to work with and, and o- obviously, um, you know, just have a, a tremendous amount of appreciation for him. Thank you, Jacoby.
