Show notes

The RFTUV Briefing for October 18, 2026, midday edition. The voting deadline, closed doors, and camera fire edition: Dutchess County voters who have moved must have address changes received by Monday, October 19, and registration applications must be received by Saturday, October 24, which is Golden Day and the first of nine early voting days, October 24 to November 1, at seven sites in Rhinebeck, Fishkill, Poughkeepsie, Millbrook, and Hyde Park, ahead of Election Day on Tuesday, November 3, polls 6 AM to 9 PM. Major websites are closing their doors to AI agents, with Yelp allowing only paid licensed access, Delta saying it has no partnership for third party agent booking, and JPMorgan Chase and Charles Schwab confirming they block agents from accounts over security concerns, while Amazon's fight with Perplexity continues and user reports name Cars.com and Amtrak as no longer accessible. Plus a Rhinebeck man, John K. Coleman, 26, is charged with third degree criminal mischief and fifth degree arson after police say a Flock license plate camera was set on fire on October 10 on Route 9 and the fire spread to a brush fire; he is presumed innocent and is due in Rhinebeck Town Court on November 5. Hosted by Noel.
